ICICI Prudential AMC launched their new fund ICICI Prudential Quant Fund which was open for subscription from 23rd November 2020 to 7th December 2020. The fund is a sub-category of equity mutual funds and follows rule-based investing. ICICI quant Fund selects relevant stocks on predefined parameters, which helps remove human intervention and behavioral biases in the investing processes. The universe for the ICICI Quant fund is the BSE 200 index. Stocks are given a composite score based on various factors, including, macro indicators, fundamental parameters, and technical indicators. The total stocks in the portfolio is expected to be between 30 and 60. No individual stock will have a weightage of more than 10% and no sector will have a weightage of more than 30%. The portfolio will be rebalanced on a ad-hoc and periodic basis. The minimum investment in the fund in case of a lumpsum is Rs. 1000 and Rs. 100 in case of SIP. The ICICI Quant Fund is suitable for investors looking to invest in equities through a rule-based method for long-term capital appreciation.
